I walk more in December than in the other months because I love looking at Christmas decorations. When I was living in Hongkong, the city had huge budgets to decorate for Christmas but I realized when I moved here that the decorations are – sorry Hongkong - plastic fantastic.
There is nothing wrong with plastic but I do question how sustainable it all was? Because the following year brings an entirely different decors and themes. Were they all binned just to have another look or to have the latest trend?
The basis of Swiss Christmas decoration is NATURAL. Fresh trees, pine cones and branches decorated with fairy lights. If you don’t have space for a tree, evergreen branches are suspended in ceilings! I’ll let the photos do the talking:
